Freckles (ephelides) and solar lentigines are localized clusters of melanin produced by active melanocytes in response to UV radiation. Unlike melasma, they reside predominantly within the superficial epidermis.
Using specialized 532nm Q-Switch laser energy or targeted medical peels, Dr. Zartash Arshad targets individual freckles with millimeter accuracy. The pigment darkens slightly over 2-3 days before naturally sloughing off to reveal clear, porcelain skin.
